Research Field

Sinopec Shanghai Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology (SRIPT) has long been engaged in the technology research and development (R&D) for the proper utilization of olefins and aromatics, such as the catalytic processes for basic petrochemicals and fine chemicals, as well as functional polymers’ preparation and fabrication. The R&D work has covered the prospective exploratory research, fundamental research, technology packages combined with the catalysts developed on our own.

With the persistent innovation and improvement-oriented attitude, SRIPT has developed a series of commercially proven and worldwide first-level technologies and catalysts. Most of them have been licensed to industrial production units or plants at home and abroad, which havemade great contribution to the technology progress of Chinese petrochemical industry.

Now, under the governance of Sinopec Corp., SRIPT will strengthen its core R&D area, speed up its R&D process, and fulfill its responsibility to provide technical support for SINOPEC technology advancement and capital appreciation. SRIPT will also actively participate in the international technology competition.
